Never Lose Hope

I've been struggling with depression for a number of years now and it's been very up and down. I've had moments when I've felt so low I never wanted to see another day and so high I felt like I could fly. But you know what? Good things do happen. Recently I attended Clinical Governance and The Priory, as I always do every month, and I got offered a fantastic opportunity.

My old consultant asked if myself and another member of Clinical Governance to go and do a talk on Autism and ADHD to 100-150 delegates for prep schools ages 5-13. I don't have too many details but I know that we will be doing talks at the start and end of the day and we will also be involved in workshops with 30-40 delegates throughout the day. I will be talking about the experiences I had in school with having both Autism and ADHD and what was and wasn't helpful. I'm so so grateful for this opportunity and I hope it'll lead to many more. I'll be prepped soon, it isn't until next year yet but it's something to keep me motivated and help me stay on track.

If you are struggling with depression then just know that there will be good and bad times but try and give yourself a goal. My goal is to go to this presentation healthy and stable, out of hospital, clean and ready to give it my all. I'll focus on that now and then once that's over I'll find something else to motivate me. Try and stay on track, even if it's a small goal, focus and put all of your energy into it. Use it to give you purpose.

"Life is tough, but so are you."
