Vintage Harley

I've been riding for almost nine years now though I only started having riding lessons three years ago. I've ridden, loaned and owned multiple horses but now I have one horse called Casper. He's a 15hh, dapple grey, 8 year old Connemara and his show-name is Vintage Harley.

I've owned Casper for three years now but it feels like he's been with me forever. He's been there through the ups and downs I've had and he's been the one constant in my life, as well as my family. I can't explain how grateful I am to have him in my life.

Casper and I do a bit of everything, show-jumping, cross-country, dressage, he doesn't have much confidence in himself and doubts himself a lot but we're getting there. He just needs to trust me more, he's quite a quirky horse and doesn't like strangers, he shies away from them or pins his ears back. He's definitely more of a one person horse.

We competed for the first time in May this year and he did really well. We got a 5th and 3rd in the show-jumping. It was an awful day but he jumped nicely regardless. I hope to compete him more in the future and I'm saving up for my own horse box so hopefully one day we can get competing and adventuring out regularly.

We've both progressed tremendously in my eyes, not just through our riding but in both of our confidence in ourselves and in each other. He's my dream horse, my heart horse and he'll be with me until the day he passes.
